I'm a nurse & lifestyle blogger, here to show you how to unhate your nursing career & create a life you love.

hey, i'm Bridget!

Three years ago, I started a business.

And obviously, with that new business came a new website.

The only problem was I had NO idea how to write or create a website. 🤦🏽‍♀️

So I did as any nurse does when she doesn’t know how to do something… I researched and studied and DIY’d my lil heart out… and listen, my first website was freaking ROUGH:

I spent SO much time researching, reading every blog post and watching every YouTube tutorial I could find, and somehow still ended up with something that wasn’t working for me (and that was super cringy too lol).

Since then, I invested in Site Series® Sprint by Sara at BTL and have completely rewritten (and redesigned) my entire website from a blank Google Doc THREE times.

But every time I sat down to reimagine it, instead of going back down the Google rabbit hole again, I just opened up Site Series® and rewatched ALL her videos on website copywriting.

And now, because of everything Sara taught me, I have the literal website of my dreams (and a business I love even more).

Site Series® Course Breakdown

Site Series® is a website copywriting course that teaches you how to think and write for yourself.

And in this AI era we live in, where anyone can generate a website in seconds, learning how to leverage your own damn brain holds the absolute MOST value a business owner can have, IMHO.

You’ll learn how to look at your own business, your own brand, and your own weird specific kind of magic differently, so you can put it all into words that nobody else (especially AI) could have possibly written.

Here’s the chapter breakdown, straight from Sara’s course page:

  • Chapter 0: Discover Your Brand Personality
    • Nail down your ideal client, offer, brand voice, and what makes you the best option before you write a single word
  • Chapter 1: Master the Copywriting Basics
    • Core copywriting strategy (persuasion principles, social proof, stages of awareness, tone and reader experience) which can be applied to any writing, not just websites, tbh
  • Chapter 2: Your Easy Guide to SEO
    • Keyword selection, placement, metadata, and the basics of getting found on Google
  • Chapter 3: Draft Your Homepage
    • Hooking readers in seconds, answering questions before they’re asked, and keeping people reading
  • Chapter 4: Draft Your About Page
    • Getting unstuck on writing about yourself without sounding salesy and connecting your story to your reader’s
  • Chapter 5: Draft Your Services Page
    • Structuring for conversion, showcasing expertise, weaving in testimonials and process without losing your voice
  • Chapter 6: Draft Your Contact Page
    • Writing a headline and intro that closes the deal, plus a bonus lesson on optimizing inquiry forms
  • Chapter 7: Launch Your Site with Confidence
    • A full launch checklist, back-end tutorials for Showit, Squarespace, Webflow, and Shopify, and how to market your new site
  • Bonus lessons included:
    • How to Use AI in Your Copywriting Process, The Art of the Optimized Contact Form, plus mini-lessons on Links, Resources, Subscribe, Freebie, Confirmation, Coming Soon, and One-Pager site pages.

Sara’s Teaching Style

Sara at BTL is the brain (and heart) behind Site Series®. She’s going to swear a lot, laugh a lot, and be completely straight-up with you about why your website isn’t working.

If I had to describe her teaching style in one sentence:

She’s a self-proclaimed ADHD squirrel who can jump from a copywriting principle to a random tangent about her son’s left shoe, yet somehow still land the lesson perfectly. 🤣

But most importantly, Sara has personally written thousands of words for hundreds of businesses. She legitimately teaches every lesson by example, so if you learn best by seeing it done IRL, Sara is your girl.

Three Things This Website Copywriting Course Gave Me (That I Think Every Nurse Building a Business Needs)

If you’re a nurse stepping into entrepreneurship, I fully understand that it can feel overwhelming at times. However, you’ll quickly find that this journey will become the most transformative experience for your personal growth.

I truly believe you can either learn those lessons the slow, expensive way with one confusing Google search at a time… orrr you can learn them faster by investing in the right guidance.

For me, that guidance came from Sara’s website copywriting course, and it taught me way more than I ever expected. Here are the three things that mattered most to me and my business:

1. It taught me how to infuse my own personality and story into my marketing.

What I’ve learned in business is that YOU and YOUR story are THE reason anyone sticks around long enough to read a second page of your website and eventually chooses to buy from you rather than anyone else.

But I spent 3 years as a website copywriter myself, and I spent a lot of time researching other nurses’ websites, only to find they were completely devoid of ANY character.

I largely believe that we can blame this one on HIPAA and the outright fear we all have of getting shamed, reprimanded, or even FIRED for sharing too much information on the internet.

And listen, I get it… because unfortunately, that fear is not totally unfounded.

But somewhere along the way, a lot of you took “don’t share patient information” and turned it into “don’t share ANYTHING real about yourself or your experiences,” which, respectfully, is not the same rule.

Sara’s website copywriting course taught me the importance of using our stories and how to leverage them to build a successful business along the way.

2. It taught me to work smarter, not harder.

Nursing already asks so much of our bodies and our energy.

The last thing any of us needs is a business that requires us to sacrifice even more… and to spend precious time, energy, and resources personally convincing every single person why they should trust us, over and over, in every post, every DM, and every email…

Every inquiry means another round of explaining who you are, what you offer, and why anyone should pay you to help them. It’s exhausting, and it means you’re basically re-selling yourself from scratch every single time.

But your website can do that work before anyone even reaches out. It screens for the right people, answers the obvious questions, and builds the trust FOR you. That means by the time someone reaches out to you, they’re already ready to buy in.

Sara believes your website should do the selling for you… your website should be so good it becomes your 24/7 salesperson… so that you don’t have to do all the heavy lifting yourself. And THAT is working smarter, not harder. 💁🏽‍♀️

3. It gave me confidence in not only my website, but my overall business direction.

Okay, so this one’s less about the website itself and more about what happened to my brain (and business) after taking this course.

Yes, Sara’s website copywriting course breaks down every single page — home, about, services, contact, all of it — section by section, example by example. It gives you the clear, actionable blueprints to map out your message from top to bottom so you never feel lost looking at a blank page again.

But it’s also sneakily teaching you how to think like a marketer

Sara’s course trains you to look at your messaging through the eyes of your ideal client, understanding their pain points, desires, and decision-making process. After completing it the first time around, I started noticing that I could pick out the good, bad, and AI-generated copy everywhere.

It was the enlightening experience I didn’t know I needed as a brand new entrepreneur.

And having that foundational strategic framework gave me the confidence to make more intentional decisions about my own brand’s positioning as I grew. It was the only reason I was able to completely rewrite my website copy THREE times as my business evolved over the years.

Pricing Vs Value

Uhm, Sara pricing Site Series® at $750 is honestly hilarious to me, because that number doesn’t even come CLOSE to touching the value I’ve gotten out of it.

A big, BIG fear of mine was wasting money on some rando course on something that I knew nothing about. Like, how was I supposed to know if THIS would be the course that would help me bring my dreams to life? Or if it was just going to be one big vomit-inducing waste of time, energy, and money?!

But after internet-stalking Sara for a hot minute, I knew I HAD to invest, because I knew my website needed some serious hAlp (plus, I just loved her vibe).

I had been running in circles, Googling and YouTube-ing every little question about website copy, design, and platforms to use. And I honestly wasted sooo much time doing that… when really… all I had to do was ask Sara.

I learned how to write every single page of my website, AND SO MUCH MORE. Genuinely, my website (or business, for that matter) would NOT be where it is today without Sara’s course.

GENUINELY, you guys.

Plus, remember when I said I’ve rewritten my website from scratch THREE times now… If I had hired someone to write my website copy for me each of those times, I would have forked over somewhere north of $3,000 every time (which is on the cheap end of a freelancer who’s actually worth their salt).

Instead, I paid ONCE for Site Series® and got a SKILL I get to keep using forever.

Wouldn’t Have It Any Other Way

If you’ve ever sat down to write your own website copy and felt like you have been personally victimized by a blank Google doc and its blinking cursor, I get it. I’ve been there three separate times. And every time, THIS course is what got me unstuck.

Now, go get Site Series® Sprint ASAP!

disclosure:

life on the road

Just 5 years in, I felt like the only way I’d survive my nursing career was to leave it for good. And I actually tried that. I accepted a remote job and started a business with the intention of never going back. But I quickly found that I was still sleep-deprived, still uninspired, and still burnt out.

Then, my mom died. And I started asking some big questions about who I am and what type of life I wanted to live — which, crazy enough, eventually led me back to direct patient care — this time in an oncology infusion clinic.

Turns out the answer was never in leaving. It was in figuring out how to build my nursing career in a way that would make the life I wanted possible. And that essentially meant reimagining my nursing career as just another side hustle — because you can totally do that these days. 😜

In fact, you can make your career (and life!) into whatever you want. And that’s what this lil blog is all about: learning to treat your nursing career as the foundation of the freedom you desire… asking big questions while discovering more about yourself… figuring out how to care for your nervous system better… and ultimately, creating the life of your dreams along the way.
